The Memories Swing Team is a dance troupe that performs to hit songs from the 1920s through the 1950s.  Driven by their love for the "good old days" the team performs throughout California, kicking up their heels at such popular venues as Disneyland, the Orange County and Los Angeles County Fair, and even the National Jitterbug Championships.  Their members have danced in musicals, music videos, and films, and were recently featured on ABC's Eyewitness News. 

 

The Memories Swing Team especially loves dancing for audiences who remember the big band era first hand, but they also love turning on youth to the song and dance of the greatest generation.   

 

Essex Lina of Riverside and Lee Kersten of Fullerton, are the leaders of the Memories Swing Team.  They have been dance partners since 1998, and dance teachers since 2000.  They currently teach over a hundred students each week at the world famous swing dance hall, Memories in Uptown Whittier.  Their classes cover all of the popular styles of swing including Charleston, Lindy hop, Balboa, and Shag. 

Mondays starting Monday, August 4
7:00 P.M. (Gold)
8:00 P.M. Intermediate (Blue)
9:00 P.M. Beginner (Red)

Fridays starting Friday, August 8
6:30 P.M. Intermediate (Blue)
7:30 P.M. Beginner (Red)

(8:30 P.M. Class on Fridays will be a drop-in beginner class.)
(We will not be having a Sunday series this time around.)
